Fatty Liver
Due to sedentary life style and consumption of Junk food in the past few decades prevalence of obesity has increased that leads to non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). In this case size of liver is increased due to collection of excessive fat over liver.
In this case all the functions are altered and in some case jaundice can occur. NAFLD can often be reserved thru exercise and weight loss, but if left untreated further it can leads to non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). From here liver can deteriorate further to fibrosis and cirrhosis, which can lead to serious illness or even death also.
Triglyceride and other fats accumulate in the liver cells, causing fatty liver. The balance between delivery and elimination mechanisms determines how much fatty acid is stored in the liver. Hepatic inflammation and liver cell death may coexist with fatty liver in some people ( steatohepatitis). Kaphaja yakrit roga is the Ayurvedic term for it.
The patient would have kapha vriddhi and pitta kashaya lakshan due to kapa vriddhi in the pitta stahn.
